S&D Coffee Expands List of Sustainable Coffees

Rainforest 100% Colombian Is Company’s Third Sustainable Coffee Product

Concord, NC – Today, national coffee manufacturer S&D Coffee announced it is adding 100% Colombian coffee to its growing list of Rainforest Alliance™ certified coffees, which includes Rainforest Select, Rainforest Select Decaf and Rainforest Caramel Creme. 

This medium roast coffee is produced entirely from Colombian beans – using a blend of 30 percent Rainforest Alliance Certified™ beans and other fine Arabica beans. It has a bright citric acidity with a clean lingering finish.

The Rainforest Alliance™ is a non-profit environmental and sustainable development organization whose mission is to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them by changing land-use practices, business practices and human behavior.  It also guarantees good working conditions, fair wages to workers, access to medical facilities and schools for farm children.

Through sustainable growth methods, farms grow coffee using organic practices, including composting materials for fertilizers, inter-planting coffee with shade trees to improve the natural habitat for animals and eliminating the use of harmful chemicals and certain pesticides.
